New Changes are Coming to Course Evaluations!

What's New?

Starting in Spring 2027, all lecture and seminar courses across Texas State University will use a unified set of questions and a shared timeline for course evaluations. By standardizing the evaluation process across the university, we are:

  • Reducing the number of evaluations for students every semester overall, making it easier to focus on providing thoughtful feedback.
  • Providing a consistent evaluation scale for faculty.
  • Providing a streamlined process for departments designed to reduce the number of separate evaluation projects departments need to manage.
  • Establishing a unified timeline so all evaluations are launched and closed at the same time across the university.

Creating the New Evaluation Experience

The new evaluation experience was developed through a process involving representatives from across the university, including college representatives, Faculty Senate representation, and survey/statistics expertise.

The team reviewed existing evaluation questions and developed a framework intended to work across face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses and across undergraduate and graduate programs.
